Modern Medievalist Anti-Feminism

This is one of four posts of a METAPOST–four posts in one! All four posts have been adapted (slightly edited/revised) from presentations made at the 2013 Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Conference (Washington, D.C.). The session, “Medievalism in Politics Round Table,” was a part of the Medievalism in Popular Culture section (comprised of seven sessions total), organized by Amy Kaufman.

I did not read a paper at the PCA/ACA conference; instead, I made the above video to serve as my presentation. My intention was to expose politics in the media, and I allowed my own political bias to seep through this video. In so doing, I guess I was trying to create the Über-media: one medium “to rule them all,” one medium “to find them,” one medium “to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.” However, my intentions were not truly born of evil; my intentions were more born of frustration (and perhaps even anxiety over the direction the United States government seems to be taking).
